RED Technologies, a leading innovator in dynamic spectrum management will showcase T-REM, its new solution for efficient deployment of tactical private mobile radio for military and public safety at the 11th Milipol homeland security conference starting on 31st October 2016 in Doha, Qatar. T-REM ensures PMRs provide real-time coverage, supervise user connectivity and manage radio interferences during crisis situations by leveraging RED Technologies’ award-winning innovations in real-time radio environment mapping, dynamic spectrum management and self-organizing networks.

The crucial importance of real-time radio systems deployment in crisis situations

During crisis situations, and in particular, when the security and protection of people is threatened, such as by a natural disaster or an act of terrorism, deploying a nomadic critical communications network i.e. tactical-PMR networks may be the only way to (re)establish secure communications.

  • It is therefore crucial that these networks operate flawlessly to manage and accompany crisis situations without unexpected events.
  • It is also critical that the systems are immediately deployable and that the change from a normal situation to a crisis situation is handled extremely quickly, with no fault. Reliable tools and procedures must be immediately operational to meet the requirements of mission critical communications.

The publicized failure of critical communication networks during the terrorist attacks at Brussels airport and metro station earlier this year have shown a spotlight on the need for innovation in the area of public safety networks.

“LTE and new spectrum are both available for public safety use. RED Technologies has applied its unique expertise in innovative spectrum management systems to design a powerful solution that meets a crucial safety need,” said Michael Abitbol, Managing Director of RED Technologies.

Visitors to the RED Technologies’ stand D034 will see a demonstration of T-REM, including tactical PMR coverage maps and user equipments monitoring.
